From the Universe to the Planck Length

Infographic titled From the Universe to the Planck Length. Left: the formula l_P equals the square root of h-bar G over c cubed, with the three constants (h-bar exact, G 6.674 30 times 10 to the minus 11, c 299 792 458 metres per second) and the results: Planck length 1.616 255 times 10 to the minus 35 metres, Planck time 5.391 247 times 10 to the minus 44 seconds. Centre: a vertical ladder of 63 powers of ten from the observable universe (about 92 billion light-years across) through the Sun, Earth, hydrogen atom and proton down to the Planck length, with gaps of about 18.1 orders of magnitude from the universe to the Sun, 17.1 from Earth to the hydrogen atom and 19.7 from the proton to the Planck length. Right: Planck's papers of 1899, 1900, 1901, the exact definition of h in 2019 and CODATA 2022. Bottom cards: 92 billion light-years; about 5 times 10 to the 61 Planck lengths across the universe; 19.7 orders of magnitude between a proton and the Planck length.

In short

How small is the Planck length? 1.616 255 × 10^-35 m (CODATA 2022). About 5 × 10^61 of them would span the observable universe, which NASA puts at about 92 billion light-years across.
